Unit 3 task 4a

Typography is the art and a technique of arranging type to make it more appealing to people. It includes using typefaces, point size, line length, line-spacing (leading), letter spacing (tracking) and kernng.

This book cover is very simple but interesting at the same time. Instead of a photo, there is just a blue background, white title of the book in the middle of the page and other details in blue at the top and the bottom.
We can see a white shape which looks like a young girl. She is falling and it doesn't look like she is going to land anywhere. You can't see her face or any other details. I think that we can't see her face expressions on purpose so we can't tell if she's scared or happy. They have used it because they don't want us to see the emotions because we could then guess what it is about.
Book cover designer used an eye catching technique. The words 'The girl who fell from the sky' are above the falling girl so when you are reading it, you can almost feel like you are falling together with a girl.

This book cover is also very simple and interesting as well as a little bit mysterious. It's quite colourful and eye catching. When you look at it you can feel lost because you don't know what to look at first.I think there are many interesting details about it.
We can see huge letters saying 'let's get lost Adi Alsaid'. They are big and the two different colours have been used to give the idea that the book is not sad or boring. The background is a map which says 'love, hope and loss' on every step of the journey so you kind of know what it's all about.
I really like this book cover because it's simple but very eye catching and interesting.

This book cover is very, very simple and empty. The use of typography on this book cover is not  complicated or interesting but the idea of using something simple can also make sense because some people may look for something different than everything else.
The image is the best part about the whole thing because it works well with the title and it's also kind of ironic and sarcastic. The title says 'privacy' but a person looking at you through the hole, shows that there's really no privacy in here.

Unit 3 Task 1 Cubism

These images inspired me through their use of colours, contrast and composition. They are 10 images and they are all very similar. The only thing that changes is the angle. It is very inspiring and looking at this composition of the images makes you think about every single one of them.

These photos caught my attention because they work well together and they look very different to normal, average photos. Every single one is very eye catching and works well as an individual image as well as a part of the bigger picture. They also caught my attention because some of them are really bright and some of them are dark and they don't stand out as much as the other ones. It creates a good balance.

This image as a whole mood board I've created makes me feel good and proud because it shows that you can put different images together on one page and they can still look good or even better than as individual images.

The definition of the light within the images showed that they were all taken at the same time and the light didn't change but you can still see that there's a small difference between some of the images. Some of them are darker than the other ones and you can see more shadows. Also the purse looks brighter on some of the photos and you can see that artificial lighting was used because you can see a reflection of the light bulb.

Using Photoshop I've changed the size of the images and I've put them all onto one page. I used these techniques because they would've been to big to put them all together. It also made them look better together.

Using this software was difficult because I didn't know how to bring some of the images to the front or to the back. It made it quite difficult to put them all together so they would look like one big image. I dont know much about Photoshop yet and I'm still a bit scared to try to explore it on my own.

The images show that I used different types of the Depth of Field, not just one. It makes it more interesting and every image is different not just because of the angle but because of this too.

The lighting within the image was created mainly by artificial light but I took the photos near the window so I would say there was some of the natural light involved too.

The rule of thirds was used to enhance the concept of good composition and the right angles. They make the images more pleasant to look at.

evaluation Unit 2

Throughout this project I aimed to capture the essence of the small details in Saltaire and to capture few things but trying to find a different colour every time. I've found many things that I wanted to capture but in  the end, I dont think I have enough photos. Because of it I had to borrow some photos from a person I've been working with. Also I didnt have my own camera so it was a lot harder to complete all the tasks and keep my work in one place.

This image inspired me through its use of focus, combination of colours of the background and the flower. It makes the image look really bright and fresh .
This photograph caught my attention because it was very well exposed and the composition is great. It would catch everyone's attention because it is very eye catching.
This image made me feel summery because it gives the impression of very nice weather and lots of sun. This image is very bright and that's probably why it makes you feel warm when you look at it.
The definition of the light within the image showed that it was a really nice day and the sun was shining very bright. The light was shining from the right side and because of it there are some shadows and the image looks darker on the left hand side.
I used few techniques in Photoshop to bring out the brightness and the shadows of the image. Also I used few tools to make it look more pink and less dull.
Using this software was difficult because I'm not used to it and I don't know how to use it properly yet. I don't know how to find and use many options that could improve my work. In my opinion Photoshop is quite complicated and hard to use.
I used shallow Depth of Field. It shows it by being focused on the flower not the background .

This image inspired me through its use of bold and sharp edges and lines . It looks like a really strong image.
This photograph caught my attention becasue it was very bright, just as my first photo. It's eye catching and the composition is very good.
The definition of the light within the image showed that the lighting was very good that day. There are not many shadows but the background is a bit darker than the rest of the image.
The lighting within the image was created by the natural light only. The sun and the shadows created a very nice composition of light. The rule of thirds was used to enhance the concept of good composition.

unit 2

You have to open a new document and then click on the crop tool.

Change the size to 6 cm width and 6 cm height and change the resolution to 300 pixels/inch.

Then you have to create a new window and drag all your images on to that file.

When you edit your images and put them all in one place, you can create a mood board containing RGB
and CMYK + pictures edited in Photoshop using duo tone.
